BUTTERFLY BIRTHDAY
Most people that I know really like butterflies; If they don't like them, they can at least appreciate their beauty. Whenever I find a big beautiful butterfly on one of my craft store runs, I immediately concoct a card design to go with it. I hope you like this one.
Male Birthday "Camera" Card
"OH SNAP! It's You Birthday!" I was asked to make this birthday card for the friend of a friend. I find it difficult to come up with ideas for masculine birthday cards. This is what popped into my head:
I added a birthday candle and a little silver cardstock to highlight some to the camera hardware. The IRONY here is that this is a CAMERA card, and the picture that I took of the card is "OUT OF FOCUS!" The sentiment on the inside says, "May all your wishes come true!"

Bridal Party Keepsakes
So my dear friend Candace' asked me several months prior to her wedding to design 3 wooden keepsake hand painted boxes for her bridesmaids. Her wedding colors were "Tiffany Blue and chocolate brown." I knew that my greatest challenge would be trying to find just the right blue to make her happy, but luckily, Michael's came through in a pinch. She asked that I include a message to her bridesmaids and sign it with her love. Here's my take on her special request:
I chose to incorporate some other tones such as GOLD & COPPER.
I added white & gold flowers and a tiny green leaf on the top of each box. I found those on clearance at Michael's after the Christmas season.
Here's a view from all angles.
I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch out a vine border from brown cardstock. I decided to carry the floral motif around the entire perimeter of the boxes.
I printed out a little note from Candace' to her bridesmaid onto white cardstock, cut it out in the shape of a tag, inked the edges in burnt umber & brown ink, added a satin ribbon, then tacked on a cute little rose from Michael's. I added a little glitter glue to the rose petals and WHALAH!
A small piece of the branch border was added to the inside bottom of the box for visual interest and continuity.
At the end of the day, Candace' and her merry bridesmaids LOVED the boxes, and that made me feel REALLY good!
Thanks so much for taking the time to look!
