"Faith"

It's a rainy Tuesday here in Central Florida, but the warmth and humidity outside tells me that Spring is very much in the air.  I've designed a series of inspirational Spring cards because Easter is quickly approaching, and Spring will arrive on the very heals of that.  I figued I could kill two birds with one stone.  This latest card is entitled "Faith."  It can be given at Easter or as a souce of encouragement for someone who may need a boost.

Nothing says "Spring" like a really nice combination of yellow & green.  In this case, I added orange (my favorite color in the universe) as the perfect little accent.  Inking the edges in brown helped to bring out the yellow and white checkered paper.  Here's a look at the inside:

Tools & Materials:
  1. Green cardstock (JoAnn's)
  2. Yellow cardstock (Michael's)
  3. Green glitter paper (Best Occasions-Walmart)
  4. Floral & Insect acetate dicuts (K&Company)
  5. Yellow checkered paper (Hobby Lobby)
  6. Polka Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug)
  7. Labels Five (Spellbinders)
  8. Flowers & Flourish punch (EK Success)
  9. Orange checkered ribbon (Michael's $1 bin)
  10. Bling butterfly (Michael's $1.50 section)
Wishing you God's blessings until I post again!!

"Be Happy"

Hello Friends!  Today I am sharing my "Be Happy" Spring card with you.  This design was a little time consuming because of all the details that went into making the card, but I had fun doing it!  The main color scheme is yellow and orange with hints of green and brown.  I never considered brown for use in a Spring color scheme, but I was pleasantly surprised.

See what I mean about the brown?  I liked it so much that I chose to ink the edges with esspresso brown as well.  Here's a peek at the inside:

Tools & Materials:
  1. Yellow & Tangerine Bazzill cardstock (Michael's)
  2. White cardstock (Walmart)
  3. "Sun kissed" patterned paper (Pressed Petals Assorted Pack)
  4. All flowers, chipboard, & insect dicuts (K&Company)
  5. Crinkly ribbon (made that myself)
  6. Recollections bronze brads (Michael's)
  7. "Flowers/Summer" embossing folder (Sizzix)
  8. Stickles (Michael's)
  9. Jute string (Dollar store)
Tip of the Day:
Check your local dollar stores for adhesives.  I stumbled upon some of the most fantastic sticky tape at the dollar store.  At first I only purchased one roll; I was sure that it wouldn't work because the quality was inferior...BOY WAS I WRONG!  I haven't paid more than $1.29 for acid free scrapbook adhesive in over a year!

I'm wishing all of you a PHENOMENAL DAY!
