Vintage Valentine

Hi Everyone!  This is my very first blog post and I am soooo excited (corny, but true)!  From this point on I am going to try and post as many of my Valentine card designs as possible (at least 2 or 3 per week) until Valentine's Day.  I'll sneak in a few other cards in between.  Here's my first card entitled "Love's Offering."

I found the cutest little vintage diecut on clearance and knew immediately that I had to make a card out of it.  In addition to red, white, & blue, the image has many other colors (i.e brown, orange, pink, & green) so the sky's the limit in terms of color schemes.  I chose to go with red, white, and blue accented with a hint of sunburst yellow.

Materials:
  1. Card - standard white textured cardstock (Michael's)
  2. Blue glitter paper - "Best Occasions" glitter pack paper (Walmart)
  3. "Kassie's Brocade" embossing folder (Cuttlebug)
  4. Chipboard Love - "Best Occasions" chipboard pack (Walmart)
  5. Martha Stewart deep border punch (Michael's)
  6. Flowers, pearl accents, & ribbon (Michael's $1.50 section)
  7. Vintage diecut - discontinued clearance item at local discount store

Here's a peek at the inside....

Tip of the Day:  For a little visual interest, use several different embossing folder patterns on your card...trust me, variety is definitely the spice of life!
