BUTTERFLY BIRTHDAY

Most people that I know really like butterflies; If they don't like them, they can at least appreciate their beauty.  Whenever I find a big beautiful butterfly on one of my craft store runs, I immediately concoct a card design to go with it.  I hope you like this one.

The outside and inside sentiments read: "Happy Birthday...Birthday Wishes"

Male Birthday "Camera" Card

"OH SNAP! It's You Birthday!"  I was asked to make this birthday card for the friend of a friend.  I find it difficult to come up with ideas for masculine birthday cards.  This is what popped into my head:

I added a birthday candle and a little silver cardstock to highlight some to the camera hardware.  The IRONY here is that this is a CAMERA card, and the picture that I took of the card is "OUT OF FOCUS!"  The sentiment on the inside says, "May all your wishes come true!"

Bridal Party Keepsakes

So my dear friend Candace' asked me several months prior to her wedding to design 3 wooden keepsake hand painted boxes for her bridesmaids.  Her wedding colors were "Tiffany Blue and chocolate brown."  I knew that my greatest challenge would be trying to find just the right blue to make her happy, but luckily, Michael's came through in a pinch.  She asked that I include a message to her bridesmaids and sign it with her love.  Here's my take on her special request:

I chose to incorporate some other tones such as GOLD & COPPER.
I added white & gold flowers and a tiny green leaf on the top of each box.  I found those on clearance at Michael's after the Christmas season.
Here's a view from all angles.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch out a vine border from brown cardstock.  I decided to carry the floral motif around the entire perimeter of the boxes.

I printed out a little note from Candace' to her bridesmaid onto white cardstock, cut it out in the shape of a tag, inked the edges in burnt umber & brown ink, added a satin ribbon, then tacked on a cute little rose from Michael's.  I added a little glitter glue to the rose petals and WHALAH!

A small piece of the branch border was added to the inside bottom of the box for visual interest and continuity.

At the end of the day, Candace' and her merry bridesmaids LOVED the boxes, and that made me feel REALLY good!

Thanks so much for taking the time to look!

Happy Birthday!

Hi Everyone!  Whew...it's been a busy few weeks!  If your life is anything like mine, you're trying to juggle it all while wearing high heels.  I've made tons of cards and just wanted to share one with you.  This "Happy Birthday" card was quick, easy, and fun.

Since it's Spring, but feels like Summer, I opted for a really bright color scheme of lime green, orange, & black.  The yellow hat is an acetate die from K&Company; the flowers, ribbon, brads, & glass gem are from Michael's.  I purchased the patterned papers from DCWV quite a few years ago.

The patterned paper is so much fun, it adds great contrast to the color palette.

My cards are on sale at my store at the Daytona Beach Flea Market and at the Purple Dragonfly Boutique in Ormond Beach.  Each card comes with it's own personalized gift box.  My customers love it and I think it adds a really nice touch to a well handcrafted greeting card.

Thanks so much for looking!

God Bless You!

Hi Everyone!  I hope someone somewhere is having a teriffic Tuesday.  Aside from this pesky sinus infection that i'm trying desperately to shake, my Tuesday is off to a pretty good start.  By 9:30 AM, I had already dropped my three kids off to school, washed all the dishes, and finished preping lunch.  I'm not the only "Super-Mom" that works this kind of magic everyday, so KUDOS to all you fabulous females who pull off these "Bionic Woman" feats daily without a hitch!

Today I would like to share my "God Bless You" card design with you.  Take a look...

A few nicely cooridinated pieces of cardstock and patterned paper form the base for this little creation. I used K&Company diecuts such as the orange flower and little bumble bee.  The Spellbinders dies (ie Beaded & Classic Circles) worked as a perfect backdrop for the "God Bless You" sentiment.  I tied a little bow, sprinkled a few gems and brads around, and that was all she wrote!  Thanks a million for looking!

"Inspire"

Hello Friends! I've been on a Spring card making binge, but i'm going to step away from that today and share a card entitled "Inspire."  I like this design because of it's the color scheme and punched borders, and I hope you like it too!  Thanks so much for taking the time to look.

Here's what the inside looks like...

I opted to offset the Spellbinders "Fancy Labels" diecut and used a few pop-up dots which adds depth and dimension.  I accented each corner with a champagne colored gem stone and that seemed to do the trick.  I had fun with this one!  Thanks a bunch for looking!
